Embassy of India, in association with Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and India-Peru Chamber of Commerce (INCHAM), organized a webinar on 30th September 2020 on Trade and Investment opportunities between India and Peru post-Covid-19.

In his keynote address, Ambassador of India Shri M. Subbarayudu underlined the importance of such business interactions. He gave a product-wise detailed account of the current status of India-Peru trade and economic ties, opportunities for cooperation, and a possible way ahead post-Covid-19. Ambassador urged Indian exporters to focus their effort to fill the gap created in supply chains. He also highlighted that the timely action to supply goods would go a long way in consolidating trade and business partnerships for overall advantage.

Mr. Mahesh Chandra Keyal, Vice President, FIEO in his welcome address highlighted the need for virtual engagement, which is the new imperative to connect with key stakeholders across the globe. FIEO as the apex body to promote international trade is making efforts to reach out to exporters through digital means to understand their concerns and look for speedy solutions. President of INCHAM Mr. Rohit Rao urged the Indian industry to explore the possibility of a joint venture with Peruvian partners and look at Peru not as a single market but as a hub for exports to emerging markets in the LAC region.

The webinar also had presentations by Mr. Suranjan Gupta, Executive Director, Engineering Export Promotion Council on India’s engineering sector and Mr. Vinnie Mehta, Director General, Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) on India’s auto component industry.
